Paul Rodgers Free Spirit New LP

Paul Rodgers Brings ‘Free Spirit’ to Quarto Valley Records

In London, England, on May 28, 2017, Paul Rodgers returned to his roots, bringing fans an extraordinary evening celebrating the music of Free. This sold out concert at the Royal Albert Hall was captured for a live CD / DVD set to be released by Quarto Valley Records in spring 2018. The 16-song collection includes inspired performances of rock classics like “All Right Now,” “Wishing Well,” “Fire and Water,” and many deep tracks—some of which were never performed live by the original band, such as “Love You So” and “Catch a Train”.

“I have been making music for a long, long, long time, so to get super charged and re-inspired to perform was a revelation”, says Rodgers. “I loved the Free Spirit Tour and the guys who helped create the magic, Pete Bullick, Rich Newman, Ian Rowley and Gerard ‘G’ Louis. I hope you feel it too, just lose yourself in the music and let it fuel your soul.”

“Quarto Valley Records is thrilled to bring this epic night of music to rock ‘n’ roll fans,” says QVR founder and president Bruce Quarto. “We are extremely honored to welcome Paul Rodgers to the Quarto Valley family.”

Paul Rodgers – Free Spirit – Celebrating the Music of Free, will be available on CD/DVD, Blu-ray, vinyl, and across digital platforms.

Paul Rodgers Free Spirit UK Tour

Paul Rodgers Announces the “FREE Spirit” UK Tour

Paul Rodgers has announced that he will be heading out across the UK this May on the ‘FREE Spirit’ Tour performing songs strictly from the Free catalogue. The tour will culminate with a show at the famed Royal Albert Hall in London.

On the subject of performing songs from Free’s renowned back catalogue and why the decision was made to name the tour the ‘FREE Spirit’ Tour, Paul Rodgers had the following to say:

“It was 50 years ago in 1967 when Paul Kossoff and I met and later formed Free. We first jammed together at the Fickle Pickle Blues Club in Finsbury Park, we wanted exactly that, to be free to play the music that we loved, blues and beyond. We knew we had something special between us when people told us that when we played time stood still. He brought in the rhythm section, Simon Kirke from his band The Black Cat Bones and found the advertisement at the Nags Head Battersea for a “Bass player ex-John Mayall looking for a gig” Andy Fraser.

Paul Rodgers & Steve Rodgers “This Place Called Home” Charity Single To Benefit Zoe’s Place

“This Place Called Home” is a song celebrating the heritage of the working man, the father and son who for generations have proudly contributed to some of the world’s greatest industrial wonders. Featuring Paul Rodgers and his son Steve. This is their first recording together as father and son. All proceeds from the single will be donated to Zoe’s Place Baby Hospice in Middlesbrough.

Paul originally hails from Teeside an area recently affected by the closure of the large Steel plant at Redcar. In light of these recent events here in the UK, this song is a tribute to the millions of men who have worked in the Steel Industry.

“We can’t stop progress but this song marks the passage of the steelworks where my father worked. My wife Cynthia suggested that I sing it as a duet with my son Steve which is particularly poignant.”  Paul Rodgers
